ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME WITH THAT ENDING??

WARNING SPOILERS BELOW

Okay so Ao just sacrifices himself for his parents, and they’re okay with that? I’m sorry but that is just a complete BULLSHIT ending and completely out of character for Renton and Eureka. The whole Truth being an archetype thing was actually pretty awesome, but beyond that the finale just wasn’t cool with me. Despite Ao’s character flaws, he didn’t deserve that kind of existence—not only was he hopping between universes, but even when he got back to his original time it wasn’t guaranteed that anyone would remember him! I mean, you might as well have killed him, for christ’s sake! And personally I just cannot see Renton battling his own goddamn son, no matter what the situation is. Not to mention the fact that he had already lost one child before! And that just brings me back to the whole willing-to-let-Ao-sacrifice-himself-for-his-parents’-love. There is just no possible way that Renton and Eureka would’ve allowed that to happen. Adding in all of this time-jumping, universe-hopping nonsense is just a cherry on top of a complete failure of a sequel.

Plainly put, I completely and absolutely REJECT Eureka Seven: AO as canon. Just, no. Not at all. Not even a little bit.
